Yes! Even very skinny patients can get BBL if your surgeon is an expert in fat harvesting in thin patients! As Skinny BBL specialists, Dr. Truong and Dr. Lin utilize special techniques and tools to safely maximize fat harvesting for BBL in even the thinnest individuals.

What is the difference between a Skinny BBL and a regular BBL?
A Skinny BBL is performed in a patient who is starting with a low weight or underweight. Having low weight makes it more difficult to harvest enough fat to achieve a noticeably good result. Most Skinny BBL patients have BMI 21 or less (BMI calculator here).
If you have a low BMI or very little fat, your BBL surgeon will need to be very skilled at harvesting fat and may employ special techniques to safely harvest enough for your BBL. In addition to an aggressive liposuction, your surgeon may suggest harvesting fat from additional areas including inner thighs, knee area, and arms.

Can I get a good result from a Skinny BBL?
In general, patients getting Skinny BBL are looking to add more volume and projection to the buttocks, providing a perkier, athletic and youthful and proportional figure. With a skinny brazilian butt lift, the shape is often more important than volume.
Your surgeon may suggest gaining weight if possible prior to your procedure. There are some FDA-approved fillers which can be used in conjunction with your natural fat to achieve a fuller result. Your BBL surgeon will discuss these options with you during your consultation.
How much fat do I need for a Skinny BBL?
The amount of fat needed depends on body type and aesthetic goals, As little as 200cc of healthy fat per side can make a noticeable difference in some patients. A skilled Skinny BBL surgeon can usually harvest 500cc of healthy fat for each side, which in most thin patients is enough for a dramatic result!
What is the recovery time?
After Skinny BBL, most patients can return to work in about 7 days, with full activity and recovery occurring around 4-6 weeks. Your surgeon will give you specific post-operative instructions.
When will I see my results & will the fat last?
After a Skinny BBL, you can expect to see results almost immediately.
As long as the fat is healthy, the longevity of the results should be the same as BBL in higher weight patients. After a Skinny BBL, it will be very important to follow your surgeon’s post-op instructions carefully, including not sitting or putting pressure on the fat for the 4 weeks in order to maximize fat take and maximize your results.

How much does Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery Cost in Chicago, Illinois? The cost of Skinny BBL is typically the same as a regular BBL in a normal or overweight patient. This is because even though less volume of fat can be harvested, the process of harvesting fat is actually more difficult and potentially time-consuming. Harvesting fat in very thin patients definitely requires specialized skill that not all BBL surgeons possess. In some cases, Skinny BBL can cost more if fat harvesting must be done in multiple or additional areas.
