What is capsular contracture? Your body forms a thin capsule of scar tissue around every breast implant. That's normal. Capsular contracture happens when that capsule becomes thick and tight and starts to squeeze the implant.
What is an en bloc capsulectomy? It removes the breast implant and the entire scar tissue capsule together, as one unit, without cutting into the capsule. For this patient, Dr. Truong then placed new implants.
