IPL can give you a more youthful looking skin tone. It provides more even texture, gets rid of those unwanted brown sun spots, helps with reducing the redness of your skin if you experience rosacea. This treatment also helps with acne scars. Across the board IPL does wonders for your skin but with little down time for people with busy lifestyles.
How doe the IPL Treatment Process Work?
At the beginning your are given eye glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light. You will then have someone rub a very cool gel across the area where the treatment is being performed. The IPL lens will then be placed on top of the gel covered area of the skin, and the lights will then began. Even though your eyes are covered you will still see some flashes of light, but do not worry your eyes are protected. As far as the pain level, it is not too bad. You may feel some slight stinging, but nothing that is intolerable. There is a numbing cream that is available if needed, but rarely used. To make you even more comfortable during the procedure, there is a light mist of air that is sprayed onto your face by a machine called the Zimmer. Depending on the circumference of area that you are being treated for, determines the amount of time the procedure will take. It usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the entire face.
Is this procedure a one time treatment?
Depending on the persons face and how bad of the area is being treated, determines the number of treatments you may need. Typically, there are 3-5 treatments conducted to see the best results. Again, everyone has different skin types. Some people may require more treatments, and less for others. You can have the next treatment as early as three weeks after the previous treatment.
